What to look for when you buy CBD oil

What to look for when you buy CBD oil

CBD oil from a reliable sourceWhat to look for when you buy CBD oil

It can be very confusing, so this article is designed to help you know what to look for when you buy CBD oil. First of all, when you are shopping for CBD oil you want to know the difference between the cannabis oils available online. Next, we will also explain why there is confusion and how to make the best choice for the results you are seeking.

Difference between cannabis oils

In order to understand the different oils you must first understand the different types of cannabis they are extracted from. First of all, cannabis with high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is called marijuana. THC is the molecule that will make you “high”. Oil from this plant is often called cannabis or marijuana oil and it is illegal in most states. Some states have legalized its use but users need to follow the states laws in order to obtain it. Secondly, the cannabis plant that is grown to have high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) and low levels of THC, below .3% is called hemp. Oils extracted from hemp are often called hemp oil or CBD oil. Oil extracted from the hemp seeds, normally called hemp seed oil, does not contain CBD or THC but it does contain Omega Fatty Acids and other nutritious ingredients. But you have to be careful because some retailers are selling the seed oil as hemp oil which can be confusing. Is it hemp seed oil or hemp oil? This is why you have to not only read the label but understand what the label is telling you.

Buying the right CBD oil

CBD Oil 750mg

For our purposes we are going to explain how to buy CBD oil because consumers are being misled or they do not understand the difference before they buy and then they are often unhappy with the results. Why are they unhappy? Were they looking for CBD and they bought a product that was labeled hemp oil and it was really hemp seed oil? If they were hoping for pain relief it is simply not going to happen with hemp seed oil. But the retailer can call it whatever they want, so this is why it is so important to know what you are buying. What the retailer can not mess with are the ingredients. But as you may be finding out, reading the ingredient list can be tricky. By law it has to state what is in the bottle. But this too is somewhat of a grey area.

Understanding what it states on the bottle

This is our 750mg CBD oil ingredient list. You may think it would read, CBD or cannabidiol, but that is not the whole story. It has 30 mg of phytocannabinoid rich hemp oil, (PCR). This means it has 30 mg of high CBD hemp oil per serving that is extracted from the whole plant and it contains all cannabinoids within that plant. Of that 30 mg of full spectrum oil, 25% is pure CBD. This is the best case scenario because you have all of the cannabinoids working together. If you have an oil with 99% CBD isolate it would be less effective.  In addition, we mix our full spectrum CBD oils with hemp seed oil because we believe it is important to have 100% of our oil come from the hemp plant. In addition, the omega fatty acids in the hemp seed help with the absorption of cannabinoids in your system.

Here is another example from another company, on its label you can see it contains 23 mg of hemp extract but they do not tell you how much of that is CBD. We will discuss what the CO2 means later. Secondly, make sure you know where your  hemp oil is extracted. Here this states aerial parts. We are assuming this is full spectrum because it is being extracted from the aerial or “all” parts of the plant. The richest extraction comes from the leaves and the flowers and only to a very minor extent the stalk. As for the seeds, there is no CBD, unless there is residual residue present. This is a common misconception, many people make claims that they are extracting CBD from the seeds and this is simply false.

Most hemp oils are mixed with another product such as hemp seed oil, coconut oil or even olive oil as seen here on the competitor’s label. All are safe to consume. You want to have a healthy fat as a mixer because it helps with the absorption of the cannabinoids.

Understand how the oil is extracted

There are several methods used to extract CBD rich oil. Some methods are better than others and may leave unsafe residues behind. Here are a few of the most common.

Ethanol: To perform this method of extraction, the plant must be soaked in a high grade grain alcohol, such as ethanol. In short, it is then heated and the alcohol evaporates. This method is used to create oil appropriate for vape pen cartridges and other products. But this extraction method destroys the plant waxes, which may have health benefits.

Olive oil. Extra virgin or otherwise, olive oil can also be used to extract cannabis oil. This method is considered both safe and inexpensive, however it is perishable and should be stored in a cool, dark place. The negative with this method is that it can not be concentrated. So although it does contain CBD you would have to consume large quantities to receive the medicinal benefits.

CO2 extraction: The supercritical (or subcritical) CO2 method is more advanced and requires more skill and more expensive equipment than most methods. It uses carbon dioxide under high pressure and extremely low temperatures to isolate, preserve, and maintain the purity of the oil.  The temperature and pressure in the chambers used causes the COcannabinoid solution to react and separate. As the cannabinoids separate, they are collected in different chambers. This method allows an extractor to separate the cannabinoids and ultimately introduce only those desired. This is how THC is removed. It is considered safe, potent, and free of chlorophyll. This is the extraction method used by CBD BioCare.

Is CBD by itself a good choice?

There is also a product called CBD isolate and this is CBD that is isolated from the plant and it does not contain any other cannabinoid from the hemp plant. It looks like a fine white powder. It is not synthetic or lab made, it is an all natural product. It normally has a purity level of 99% and is the most potent CBD product available if you are just looking for CBD. It can be added to an oil and sold as a CBD oil. However, many experts suggest CBD on its own does not provide the same medicinal properties many are seeking unless the other cannabinoids from the plant are also present. To consume, users can add it to food, beverages or even a full spectrum hemp CBD oil to increase the CBD concentration. Some people also bake with it or infuse it into other oils such as coconut or olive oil. It can also be consumed through vaping.

Now that you have a better idea about how CBD oils are made you can now make a more educated decision before purchasing. For best practices and the most potent CBD oil available discover our products at https://www.cbdbiocare.com/cbd-products/

Would you choose Froot Loops or CBD?

Would you choose Froot Loops or CBD?

It may sound like a silly question but would you choose Froot Loops or CBD? If you were purely going by availability you would have to choose the cereal because it is on every major grocery store shelf in the country. CBD on the other hand is still unknown by many. In fact, you may be reading this blog and wondering what is CBD? How about FDA approval? Once again you would have to go with Froot Loops, they have been approved by the FDA to be suitable for consumption. So perhaps the simple answer is Froot Loops, but let’s take a closer look.

The Irony

Although it seems like a ridiculous question to even put Froot Loops and CBD in the same category I hope you see after reading this blog the irony of it all. There is a cereal that is being marketed to children, sold by Kellogg’s Cereal company by the millions. It is packed full of ingredients that are toxic, deadly and known to be harmful, yet this cereal is FDA approved and accepted by most Americans. It will most definitely cause a sugar high. On the flip side, you have the cannabis hemp plant that is not a drug, cannot cause a high, not even a sugar high and the government is fighting its existence. It is legal in all 50 states according to the 2014 Farm Bill, but it is still not widely accepted and easily sold in the USA. In fact, this plant is proving to have amazing medicinal properties. Yet, the government is not supporting many clinical trials to test and further prove its benefits.

Taking a closer look at the ingredients

Froot Loops

Yes, it’s true Fruit Loops are available in most grocery stores and kids love the fun colors and sweet flavor. But when you take a closer look, the ingredients are a bit frightening. First of all, the number one ingredient is sugar, that means it has more sugar than anything else. It has 12 grams in just 1/2 cup and an average bowl of cereal is a cup and a half of cereal so that’s 9 teaspoons of sugar! Secondly, it’s packed with artificial food dye’s. These dyes can be found in practically everything we eat from cereal to sports drinks. But these dyes, although approved by the FDA are toxic. They are made from chemicals that come from petroleum, which is the same chemicals that make up gasoline and even tar. If that’s not scary enough these dyes have been linked to brain cancer, nerve-deterioration and hyperactivity to name a few. Food dyes are considered bad enough to be banned in more than five countries including France and the United Kingdom. It also has BHT or butyl hydroxytoluene which is a synthetic compound which basically prevents fats in food from becoming rancid. According to the European Food Safety Authority, BHT has been shown to cause lung and liver tumors, developmental effects, and negatively impact the thyroid in animal studies. It is banned in most European countries and Japan. There are many other ingredients that should cause us to ask questions, but yet these are all FDA approved ingredients and legal in the United States. So are you still voting for the Froot Loops?

CBD Hemp Plant

CBD Hemp Plant

Cannabidiol (CBD)

Now let’s take a closer look at CBD, which is not FDA approved. Of course it might not be as colorful and you certainly don’t want to eat it with a spoon and milk first thing in the morning. But let’s break it down anyways. CBD is an extract from cannabis, a plant that has grown on this planet naturally for thousands of years. It is even referenced in the bible. The cannabis plant contains more than 80 cannabinoids or plant molecules in which experts agree have medicinal properties. The two most dominant cannabinoids are THC or tetrahydrocannbinol and cannabidiol or CBD. Due to the wants   and desires of man, the cannabis plant has been modified to create the perfect plant. For those who wanted to get “high” they wanted strains that were high in THC. Although cannabis had been used as a medicine and natural remedy for centuries, mans desires for the perfect “high” changed the marketplace. This plant now became known as a drug and was made illegal in every state in the nation. Massive campaigns and millions of dollars had law abiding citizens convinced it could be nothing more than a drug and it needed to be treated as such. CBD on the other hand is not a drug and has no intoxicating effects, but yet in the eyes of most, cannabis was cannabis.

A little girl named Charlotte gave a face to CBD

Then there was a little girl named Charlotte Figi who had a disease that caused her to have approximately 300 seizures a week. It was killing her! Her body was suffering and her parents were desperate. They heard about medicinal marijuana but they lived in a state where it was not legal. Plus they did not want their daughter to be drugged by THC. That is when they heard of cannabis that has very low levels of THC and high levels of CBD. They tried oil from this high CBD cannabis and it helped little Charlotte when nothing else could. To their surprise, not only did it not cause her to get high but it has given her a life. Her story attracted the attention of thousands seeking similar relief. This high quality strain of cannabis that had little THC and high CBD is called hemp. When CBD is extracted from hemp it is legal in all 50 states. Just like Charlotte it is helping thousands of people around the world with a multitude of conditions.

The Choice is Clear

When you compare the facts, the choice is clear. I would much rather give my family CBD supplements rather than a bowl of Froot Loops. Without a shadow of a doubt one is natural, proven to have health benefits and helpful to our bodies. On the contrary, the cereal is packed full of toxic ingredients masked by FDA approval and societies acceptance. Know the facts and see CBD for what it is, a plant that can help people, not a toxic ingredient or drug. So what would you choose Froot Loops or CBD?

CBD Buyer Beware because not all CBD is Equal

As one of the founders of CBD BioCare, I am immersed in speaking about the benefits of full spectrum CBD daily. When we started building this company we quickly realized what a crazy environment it was. It is not easy being out in front!! But now, after working with people all over the world who are searching for answers and solutions, I have realized that it’s a real jungle out there. It is important for the CBD buyer to beware because not all CBD is equal. There is confusing, conflicting, sometimes unbelievable information online. We are working everyday to immerse ourselves into the market to bring accurate, verifiable information to people. The opportunity to educate is endless. This market is just starting and no one knows the length and breadth of its trajectory. We know that our products are changing lives. We get the blessing of hearing the stories everyday!

CBD Buying Tips

I do have some basic CBD buying tips that I want to share to try and help people navigate this crazy landscape of cannabis, specifically with how it pertains to one of its cannabinoids, CBD. You would not believe the things that I have seen companies doing in this business. It does not surprise me due to the overwhelming market explosion and the opportunities that come along with it. It simply brings out the bottom feeders. Those that care nothing about their patients/customers and are in this business to make the most of a quick buck. It costs a lot to do the right thing in any business. Value is related to quality of product and operation at a fair price; cheap is a function of cutting the dollar. We are and have been focused on quality of product first and foremost and quality of process for our customers and affiliates. So here are some things to watch out for. Some “red flags”.

Things to look for when selecting a CBD product provider:

No Merchant Account

Do not use a company that does not have a merchant account. Meaning, stay away from companies that cannot run your credit card. There are great protections the consumer enjoys when purchasing through their credit card. Do not do business from anyone that would deny you those protections. Furthermore, you should be able to conduct your transaction with a credit card online through a secure gateway. If you are suggested to conduct your transaction by any other means, I would question it. There is nothing wrong with PayPal as a payment option, but you should question the company if it is the only option. The reality is that accepting credit cards does not make a company trustworthy but it does indicate that at least one bank feels that the company is legitimate enough to offer the credit needed to obtain a merchant account. If a company is legitimate, they will be able to offer you the ability to purchase with your credit card. There is no reason to compromise security in your quest for relief.

Question the product

I have seen some crazy things in chat rooms and online. Please do not purchase any products made on an individual’s stove in the kitchen. All CBD is definitely not equal. I know that there is a ton of information out there that is enough to frustrate anyone, so I will keep it simple. Full Spectrum – Organically grown – Non-GMO- 3rd Party Tested – FDA Registered manufacturing facility. These traits are all necessary to get the full results that are available from CBD. It would certainly be a lot cheaper to buy a 50 gallon drum off a ship at the harbor in California. That is what many people are doing. We have seen product being sold in the marketplace and no one in America knows what is in it. Crazy!!  Although we may be few, there are companies like mine, that have gone about it the “right” way. You just need to know what to look for. There is no reason to compromise product safety standards in your quest for relief.

Watch for gimmicks

Some examples I have seen are automatic enrollment into a recurring order program. Listen, auto shipping a product that you love and don’t want to run out of is great. We offer that. But, if you are baited and switched into it….RUN. I have also seen programs that require you join and become a member. This is done to establish a recurring payment from you to them. They typically over promise and under perform to their claim. It is nothing more than an alternate revenue stream and something I would stay away from. You cannot convince me that the wellness of the patient is paramount in these types of programs.

Try it for yourself

You will hear testimonies from people that have used some form of oil and indicate that they did not get any results. There are a number of reasons that someone would not glean results from CBD. Firstly, roughly 10% of people will not get much from CBD. Simply put, we can expect that 1 in 10 will not get favorable results. The reason, however that most do not experience results is the product they are using. The source and quality of the product are paramount when achieving results. Do not take anyone’s word for what CBD can do for you. Try it!!! As long as you source a reputable product you cannot get hurt.

My hope is that some of the tips will help guide you in your search for relief. I will continue to post letters like this to disclose what we are finding in the marketplace. We wish you all the best of luck in finding your solution. We are passionate about getting the word helping you learn more about his amazing plant!

Sincerely,

Matthew Pitts

In honor of Mother’s Day

I was thinking about my favorite plant extract, CBD. It is truly the mother of all cannabinoids. Just like many of the women and mom’s in our lives, this molecule works tirelessly, always giving 100% and often receives little recognition for its efforts. But of course that is okay because she doesn’t do it for the praise, but for the love of her children. The parallelism to CBD is this….CBD is amazing, and CBD’s medicinal properties are high when combined with its fellow cannabinoids, yet it is still unrecognized by many for all of its amazing, God given attributes.

CBD Oil

So on this Mother’s Day, 2017 I want to recognize this plant extract for it’s power, effectiveness, simplicity and humbleness. When people take full spectrum CBD they experience results. We hear about people on a daily basis that are using CBD to combat all sorts of medical issues from stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, Parkinson’s and the list goes on and on. We offer CBD oil in three concentrations, 250mg, 500 mg and 750mg. Each dropper, also known as tincture, contains one dose. In the 250 mg bottle that is 10 mg of CBD per serving, 500 mg bottle offers 20 mg of CBD per serving and the 750mg bottle has 30mg CBD per serving. We encourage people to try it, you can increase or decrease the amount based on the results you are seeking. In addition, we offer anti-aging skincare products with 6mg of CBD and a pain balm with 50mg of CBD.

Yes, we are in the business of making a profit but that was not our motivation to join this industry. We have been exploring products and opportunities for years but none, until now matched our desire to help people. There are lots of amazing products on the market, but we wanted to be part of something greater. When you mention CBD to most people they are not sure what it is. That was me too last year. But once I researched it, I fell in love with what it was doing for people. It was truly saving and bettering lives. CBD is nothing new to other places around the world like Israel. It has been helping people there for years. We wanted to be part of a movement to help spread the word about how this little known extract could help people safely.

Drug Abuse is Epidemic

Drug abuse in our country is epidemic, so if there is a natural product that has no drug interactions, can not hurt you and could never cause you to overdose, isn’t it worth exploring? My prayer for this Sunday where we are honoring mother’s around the globe, that we also pay tribute to the mother of all cannabinoids, CBD. Just like the moms in our lives, it will change and better lives of the people it serves.

Hemp Seeds vs. CBD

Hemp Seeds vs. CBD

Hemp Seeds vs. CBD

Hemp seeds are in local grocery stores and they’re being marketed as “overachievers.” The package states they are packed with protein, iron and the list goes on an on. We also know they contain more essential fatty acids than any other nut or seed oil. This of course is fantastic news and I encourage everyone to try them. They even taste good. But here’s the irony, hemp seeds are being sold in supermarkets around the world because they’re considered “super foods” yet the CBD or cannabidiol that comes from the same plant, is considered by some to be a Schedule I drug.

A closer look

So let’s evaluate hemp seeds vs. CBD. First, just like the seeds, CBD cannot make you high no matter how much you consume. In addition, unlike the seeds it has amazing medicinal properties according to many researchers and experts, even the federal government. You read correctly, even the federal government states CBD has medicinal value, this is also ironic, we will explain later. So why the contradiction? Why is one a super food and the other a drug similar to heroin? Will there be a day when CBD oil can be sold in supermarkets as well? Imagine an oil that can be taken in lieu of commercial medications that can not cause intoxication, has no side effects, no drug interactions and its on the store shelves. Plus you wouldn’t even need a prescription. That would be amazing right?

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

When the cannabis plant is bred to have high levels of cannabidiol or CBD then it is considered to be hemp. According to the 2014 Farm Bil, hemp is considered legal and classified as industrial hemp as long as it has less than .03% THC. THC is the more well known molecule in cannabis that makes users high. If a plant has high levels of THC it is called marijuana, Mary Jane, pot, weed, you get the picture. There is no CBD or THC in the seeds, besides possible trace amounts from residue.

So why would CBD not be as celebrated as the hemp seed?

CBD is so much more than a seed, it comes from the flowers, leaves and sometimes the stalks. In fact, CBD oil is considered medicinal when it comes from the whole plant and is not only loaded with CBD but dozens of other cannabinoids in the plant. Through research experts have determined that when all of these cannabinoids exist together they have amazing power. Why? Because our human bodies have an endocannabinoid system and when you introduce this plants cannabinoids it works as a team.

Benefits of CBD according to the US Government.

Although the governments of many states are fighting the benefits of CBD, it’s the government who actually owns the patent on it. It’s true, here is the abstract from the US Government patent. It was filed in 1999.

Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. A particular disclosed class of cannabinoids useful as neuroprotective antioxidants is formula (I) wherein the R group is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH.sub.3, and COCH.sub.3. ##STR1##

You be the judge….

One thing for sure is that people are not shy about sharing their opinions about cannabis, we at CBD BioCare just hope for the millions of people who could benefit from this plant that you educate yourself before placing judgement. CBD is what we offer at this time because it is safe, effective for many and legal. We believe the entire plant is amazing when used properly and we are passionate about spreading the word.

CBD Oil Fights Inflammation

CBD Oil Fights Inflammation

CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory

CBD fights inflammation, there is no doubt about it. In fact, studies are proving that CBD oil, which is extracted from cannabis is superior to many common drugs such as aspirin when it comes to fighting inflammation. This is a big deal because we know that inflammation is the root cause of most diseases and many of us would prefer to not take synthetic medicine. In addition to the medical research, there are more and more personal success testimonies by people who are using CBD oil to fight inflammation. But is CBD alone enough to do the trick or does it take all of the cannabinoids working together? According to one study published out of the Lautenberg Center of General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem the answer is clear.

This study evaluated the effectiveness of CBD when it was isolated compared to when it was combined with the plants more than 80 cannabinoids. For your reference, the most commonly known cannabinoid is tetrahydrocannibinol, or THC. You may recognize this acronym because it refers to the active ingredient in marijuana and causes users to get high when heated. The second most dominant is cannabidiol, CBD, which is non-psychoactive and can not get you high. Cannabis plants with high THC are normally referred to as marijuana whereas cannabis plants with low THC and high CBD are referred to as hemp. For this article we are referring to CBD oil which is extracted from hemp and has less than .03% THC, making it legal in all 50 states.

What did the CBD study prove?

The study was conducted on mice and concluded that the whole plant extract in which all of the cannabinoids work synergistically was much more effective in relieving pain and inflammation. Interestingly, the CBD by itself proved in most tests to be ineffective regardless of the dose. In contrast, the effectiveness of the full spectrum CBD continued to increase as the higher doses were given. The tests showed the greatest effectiveness was when the oil was taken orally. It also noted that the medicinal effects and dosages will be unique to each patient.

Test shows full spectrum CBD oil decreases inflammation.

This particular test studied what’s called TNFa, which stands for tumor necrosis factor alpha. When TNFa is present in the body it leads to swelling from fluid in body tissue. So, researchers tested tissue reaction when full spectrum CBD oil was administered and they found it continued to suppress TNFa production to extremely low levels as the dosage was increased.

How did full spectrum CBD oil compare to other anti-inflammatory drugs?

This test compared CBD with both aspirin and tramadol. Aspirin had a moderate effect on tissue swelling, while tramadol had little effect. The full spectrum CBD prevented swelling of the mice paw to a greater extent than either commercial drug. Both of the commercial drugs did more for direct pain sensation, but it was CBD that produced a decrease in TNFa or again the inflammation, which as we know is normally the source of pain. Therefore, the study concluded that cannabis has medical properties not found in common anti-inflammatory drugs.

In conclusion, studies like this continue to prove that cannabis is a relevant source when treating pain and inflammation, when the full spectrum of cannabinoids are present.
