CBD when isolated from the plant contains no other cannabinoid other than CBD. Full spectrum CBD oil contains CBD, along with dozens of other cannabinoids. Many experts are finding that when CBD is combined with the other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavanoids, there is greater medicinal value. The value is often referred to as the entourage effect. How much CBD oil should I take?

Unlike drugs or medicines we normally take, CBD is a natural alternative and is considered a supplement. Unlike traditional pills that rely on our weight and condition, CBD is not a one size fits all product. One person may take a full dropper of the 500mg oil and the next make take a full dropper of the 1500mg to receive the same benefit. We have also noticed different conditions need less. For example, Parkinson’s patients often need very little product to receive results.

Dosing recommendations from our medical advisor, Dr. Jonn Desnoes:

You can take the higher potency formulas once a day or the lower potency formulas multiple times a day, either will work. Anyone that has a health conditions that they want to address can take the lower potency products multiple times a day. So you can take the 500 mg 3x a day or the 750 mg 2x a day. Sometimes using a lower potency and dosing more frequently will produce a quicker effect with a biological compound like CBD. Since we all have (biochemical individuality), we have to experiment a little to find what works best for us.

With people like myself that have a problem with pain it is easier for us to know what dose/frequency is working for us since the remediation of the pain gives us excellent feedback. With people that have trouble sleeping I recommend taking a dose of the CBD in the morning and an additional dose before bed, to help with relaxation and sleep.

When I was in private practice, I would recommended multiple doses of supplements or herbal formulas taken over time rather than one single large dose particularly with herbs and water soluble vitamins. Fat soluble vitamins can be taken in higher doses less frequently because being fat soluble they stay in the body for a longer period of time. That said even though CBD is fat soluble it functions differently than other fat soluble bio-compounds such as vitamin D or essential fatty acid’s etc.

In general, with any deficiency you need to start out with as much of the supplement or biological compound you can, so you can get a saturation level in the body. Again, we all are deficient in cannabinoids and need to build up these compounds in our system. When the body gets to that saturation level then it will utilize what it continues to need and the rest will just be excreted.

Also remember that with a complex biological/biochemical compound such as a full spectrum cannabinoid product like our CBD BioCare oils and because cannabinoids are part of so many physiological and bio-chemical functions in our bodies and brains, if you clear up a deficiency in a particular area of the body, the rest of the body may still need varied amounts of the other compounds to bring about homeostasis or balance. Therefore, the likelihood of the body not utilizing everything we give it is pretty much negligible.

Long answer, but the bottom line is; you cannot overdose on CBD!!
