CBD & Hemp Oil Information
What is CBD Oil Good For?
Cannabidiol or CBD is not yet a well-known acronym, but at CBD BioCare we believe that will change as more people learn about the benefits of this amazing cannabis extract. We are dedicated to bringing more CBD hemp oil products to the open marketplace.
We already know that there are many plants such as Aloe Vera, lavender, chamomile and many others that contain healing properties. So it should not be surprising that the cannabis plant also has medicinal benefits.
Chemically, CBD is one of more than 80 chemical substances known as cannabinoids, which are all found in the cannabis plant. CBD is the second most abundant compound in cannabis, typically representing up to 40% of its extracts. The first is tetrahydrocannabinol or THC.
CBD BioCare’s Product Line Includes:
THC and Cannabis
THC is what has kept cannabis in the dark because it causes the user to get high, and this is why cannabis for decades has been classified as a schedule 1 drug.
Although cannabis high in THC can have intoxicating side effects, the medical community cannot deny its medicinal benefits. Many states have fought for medicinal marijuana to be legal for this reason, and some states including Florida have recently made it legal for patients suffering from cancer and other diseases.
But many people want the benefit without the high. This includes parents of children suffering from epilepsy who wanted to try it in hopes of helping calm or eliminate their child’s seizures. In many cases it was successful.
CBD and THC levels tend to vary among different plants.
Cannabis growers have become very creative and have learned how to produce plants with high CBD, low THC and vice versa. Marijuana grown for recreational purposes contains more THC than CBD. Traditionally the low THC plant was considered garbage, because most users wanted high THC for its intoxicating side effects. It wasn’t until later and almost by accident that growers learned that high CBD and low THC plants could also offer medicinal benefits.
At CBD BioCare our focus is on healing, not on getting high.
At CBD BioCare our CBD oil is extracted and separated from the very finest medicinal hemp grown. To be legal in all 50 states it must contain less than .3% THC, but our CBD oil contains no detectable amounts of THC via our third party testing.
CBD Cannot Get You High
Unlike THC, CBD and the rest of the cannabinoids do not cause a high because it does not act on the same pathways as THC. These pathways, called CB1 receptors, are highly concentrated in the brain and are responsible for the mind-altering effects of THC. A 2011 review published in Current Drug Safety, concludes that CBD “does not interfere with several psychomotor and psychological functions.” The authors add that several studies suggest that CBD is “well tolerated and safe” even at high doses.
Why is CBD Beneficial?
Researchers and studies indicate that there are many benefits of CBD. According to a 2013 review published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, studies have found CBD to possess numerous medical properties. However, because cannabinoids, such as CBD, have not been FDA approved as a cure or treatment for any disease, CBD BioCare and its affiliations do not make or support any medical claims related to hemp CBD oil.
However, we recommend you read the many studies, reports, clinical trials and reputable publications available online to learn more about the benefits of CBD oil.
Which form of CBD is best? Full Spectrum or Isolate?
Full spectrum CBD oil
Full Spectrum CBD is believed to be the best way to consume cannabinoids to receive the medicinal benefits of the plant. This is why we have chosen to offer full spectrum oil exclusively. Full spectrum means all of the plants cannabinoids are present. This includes not only cannabidiol (CBD) but also Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabicyclol (CBL) and Cannabichromevarinic Acid (CBCVA) to name a few. There are more than 80 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant and when all of these cannabinoids are present it creates what is called an entourage effect. In order for the hemp to be legal in the United States it must contain less than .3% THC or tetrahydrocannibinol.
CBD Isolate is just that, CBD isolated from other cannabinoids or compounds found in the plant. It was believed at one time that CBD isolate was more beneficial than full spectrum CBD but that is no longer true. According to a study from the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem. In the 2015 study, researchers were able to prove that full spectrum CBD is capable of offering greater levels of relief, as higher doses were administered to mice. By comparison, the group that was given CBD isolate did not experience the same level of relief at higher doses.
Is CBD Legal?
Yes! CBD is legal in all 50 states and more than 40 countries around the world and you do not need a prescription to use it.
